Your civil rights in South Africa
Safe Citizen is focused on community safety and security. And two very important civil rights, guaranteed to you by our constitution are the right to life and the right to be free of all forms of violence.
When one considers the crime rate in South Africa and the violent nature of crimes perpetrated every day against families and individuals in our country, it makes a strong case for lawful self defence with a firearm. In certain instances, you may by luck be able to stop a life-threatening attack without a firearm, but if there is a much stronger and armed attacker, or more than one, it is reasonable to say that you will need to use a firearm.
Remember, that even if you choose to not acquire a firearm, a lawfully armed and competent neighbour may assist your community safety and security and may even be able to come to your rescue in an emergency.
Therefore, your two rights in connection with safety and security are very important. And that is what this message is about.
By joining Safe Citizen and telling others about your decision you will grow the number of people who support the idea of lawful and competent private firearm ownership as a path to effective self-defence.
Please share this information with your family, friends and co-workers and make Safe Citizen a powerful voice for your civil rights.
